The Rekluse RMS-7780 is an aftermarket automatic clutch system designed for KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles. This system has gained popularity among off-road riders due to its convenience and performance benefits. However, like any other product, it comes with its advantages and disadvantages. In this analysis, we will discuss the pros and cons of installing a Rekluse RMS-7780 clutch system on your KTM or Husqvarna motorcycle.
Pros:1. Smooth Power Delivery: The Rekluse RMS-7780 clutch system uses an automatic centrifugal clutch that engages and disengages based on engine RPM. This results in smooth power delivery and eliminates the need for constant clutch engagement and disengagement, making the riding experience more enjoyable.
2. Reduced Engine Wear: Traditional manual clutches can cause significant engine wear due to the constant engagement and disengagement. The Rekluse RMS-7780 reduces engine wear by minimizing the number of times the clutch plates come into contact.
3. Improved Traction: The Rekluse RMS-7780 allows for better traction by keeping the power to the ground during aggressive acceleration. This is particularly useful in off-road conditions where traction is crucial.
4. Reduced Fatigue: Riding a motorcycle with a manual clutch can be physically demanding, especially during long rides or technical trails. The Rekluse RMS-7780 reduces rider fatigue by eliminating the need to constantly operate the clutch.
Cons:1. Cost: The Rekluse RMS-7780 is a premium product, and the cost of the kit can be a significant investment for some riders.
2. Installation Complexity: Installing the Rekluse RMS-7780 system requires some mechanical expertise and specialized tools. It may not be a DIY project for everyone.
3. Limited Applicability: The Rekluse RMS-7780 is only applicable to certain KTM and Husqvarna models. Before making a purchase, it's essential to verify that the system is compatible with your specific motorcycle.
4. Weight: The Rekluse RMS-7780 system adds weight to the motorcycle, which might affect its handling characteristics, particularly in technical off-road conditions.
Conclusion:The Rekluse RMS-7780 is an innovative solution for riders seeking a more enjoyable and efficient riding experience. Its benefits include smoother power delivery, reduced engine wear, improved traction, and reduced rider fatigue. However, it comes with a premium price tag and requires installation expertise. Additionally, its applicability is limited to specific KTM and Husqvarna models.
Recommendation:If you are a serious off-road rider who frequently engages in aggressive riding conditions, the Rekluse RMS-7780 could be an excellent investment for you. Its advantages outweigh the cons for those who prioritize a smoother riding experience and reduced engine wear. However, if you are a casual rider or have limited budget, the cost and complexity of the installation may not be worth it. It's essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully and ensure compatibility with your specific motorcycle before making a purchase.
Should hurt anything or be reason to worry but I did see it so I m making note. Here is an incomplete used Rekluse clutch kit for Ktm Husqvarna 450s. It looks like its a very good usable setup once you get the couple missing pieces. Please look over photos carefully, was told this removed from a bike being sold then never got used again.
I am not sure if the clutch cover is a requirement, may be able to use stock or add thicker gasket clearance needed. Condition overall looks rather good, there was a minor ding I seen on back of clutch hub pointed at with screw driver in photo.
