The Rekluse RCS Airbound Clutch Kit is a popular aftermarket upgrade for the Kawasaki KX450F and KX450 motorcycles model years 06-15. This clutch kit, which includes a Rekluse RCS radial clutch system and a high-performance clutch cover, aims to enhance engine performance and riding experience. Let's weigh its advantages and disadvantages.
Pros:1. Consistent Power Delivery: The Rekluse RCS Airbound clutch kit uses a radial wear design. This leads to even and consistent clutch engagement, ensuring smoother power delivery and reducing engine surges.
2. Low Maintenance: The self-adjusting system of the Rekluse RCS clutch significantly reduces the need for clutch maintenance compared to conventional systems, saving both time and money.
3. Improved Acceleration: By absorbing engine shock and efficiently transferring power to the rear wheel, the Rekluse RCS clutch helps improve acceleration and overall riding experience.
4. Durability: The composite clutch basket and precision-machined clutch plates in the Rekluse kit are designed for extended durability and are able to handle the demands of aggressive riding.
Cons:1. Cost: The Rekluse RCS Airbound clutch kit can be more expensive than stock OEM clutch kits. This higher cost may deter some riders, especially those on a budget or without significant budget for upgrades.
2. Weight: The Rekluse clutch kit is approximately 3 pounds heavier than a stock clutch kit due to its components. This added weight could negatively impact acceleration and handling.
3. Incompatibility with Some Accessories: Depending on the specific aftermarket accessories installed on the motorcycle, some riders may encounter compatibility issues with the Rekluse RCS Airbound clutch kit.
Conclusion:The Rekluse RCS Airbound clutch kit offers several notable advantages such as consistent power delivery, low maintenance, improved acceleration, and durability. However, it comes with a higher cost, increased weight, and potential compatibility issues with certain accessories. Riders intending to use aftermarket parts should check for compatibility before making a purchase.
With careful consideration of these factors, the Rekluse RCS Airbound clutch kit can prove to be an excellent investment for riders seeking consistent power, reduced maintenance, and durable performance enhancements to their Kawasaki KX450F or KX450.
